CapCom
Definition:
The Washington Metropolitan region will integrate existing transportation and management systems in VA, MD and DC into a regional integrated transportation information system (RITIS). CapCOM center will host the RITIS. RITIS collects data of regional interest and fuses these data into regional information that can be used to enhance regional traveler information and transportation management functions performed by member agencies. Member agencies include: FHWA, Metropolitan Washington COG, Virginia DOT, Maryland State Highway Administration, DC Department of Public Works WMATA, and Montgomery Department of Public Works.
