Winter Maintenance
Definition:
This market package supports winter road maintenance including snow plow operations, roadway treatments (e.g., salt spraying and other anti-icing material applications), and other snow and ice control activities performed by the VDOT NOVA Maintenance and Construction Operations and VDOT NOVA Snow Operations. This package monitors environmental conditions and weather forecasts and uses the information to schedule winter maintenance activities, determine the appropriate snow and ice control response, and track and manage response operations throughout the NOVA region.
