Roadway Automated Treatment
Definition:
This market package represents the VDOT NOVA Maintenance and Construction Operations and VDOT TEOC using RWIS to automatically treat a roadway section based on environmental or atmospheric conditions. Treatments can include fog dispersion, anti-icing chemicals, etc. When the environmental sensors detect adverse conditions, the automated treatment system will be activated and drivers will be notified of the system activation through dynamic message signs.
