Road Weather Data Collection
Definition:
This market package represents the VDOT TEOC collecting current road and weather conditions using data collected from environmental sensors associated with RWIS. In addition to fixed sensor stations at the roadside, sensing of the roadway environment from sensor systems located on VDOT NOVA Maintenance and Construction Vehicles is planned. The collected environmental data is used by the Weather Information Processing and Distribution Market Package to allow VDOT to process the information and make decisions on operations.
